The Story Behind Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, God:

I had been incorporating gratitude into my daily habit for about 9 months, thanking God each morning and at night for all the blessings He’s given. Then in a marriage program my husband and I were doing, the coaches taught in a module lesson on gratitude, to not only thank God for the positive things, but also for the challenges and for future things as we pray. I started doing that and it opened up a whole new level of intimacy with God, as I recognized and thanked Him for even the challenges and the requests I was bringing to Him and it inspired me to write this song.

Verse 1 focuses on the positive blessings and gifts. Verse 2 focuses on counting it joy in the hard times and reminding that God uses all things for our good. The Bridge focuses on the future requests and gifts, knowing that God’s plans are good and so thanking Him in praying His will be done. And the chorus incorporates it all – the positive, the hard things, and the future things – in a resounding anthem of gratitude of thanking God in all circumstances.
