The Story Behind the Song

This song was the first song written on the Names of God album. It started 5 years ago when I was facing the inability to talk and walk, not knowing what was wrong with my brain and body. As I sat not knowing if I was facing something terminal, permanent, or temporary, I cried out to God in my heart and He gave me His perfect peace. He comforted me with the chorus of this song that, while I couldn’t talk or sing, I sang over and over in my heart and mind. I felt as though the weight of the entire health crisis was melting away in His presence as I closed my eyes and just sat at His feet in His peace.

As I began to regain function, I used guitar and piano playing and singing as therapy to retrain my neural pathways by trying to use my weak hands and half paralyzed vocal cords. I eventually wrote the rest of this song, regained function, and moved on to write the rest of the album through the ups, downs, and in betweens of the ongoing health battles. My dear brother/sister, it doesn’t matter what hardships you are going through, I guarantee that if you keep your mind stayed on God, trusting in Him, that our Prince of Peace will keep you in His perfect peace!
