The Story Behind Fireside Noel: Echoes of Christmas

For many years I had dreamed of making a Christmas album, and while I had done some unofficial rearranging of Christmas carols in videos on social media, I had not recorded and released any. This album project took a turn when I started thinking about how to incorporate newly written choruses along with some Celtic inspiration – blending the message of the cross with Christmas while nodding to my husband’s and oldest daughter’s love of Celtic music. As I played around with different sounds, I landed on what would become the joyful yet relaxed coffee shop vibe of six traditional Christmas carols.

These songs have strayed from the traditional sounds and melodies we’ve all grown accustomed to, BUT its joyful warmth – both in lyric and melody – with a blend of folk and pop styles along with the recognizable Celtic instrumentation has made this album a favorite in our home. I hope it fills your heart with as much joy as it does ours!

Bible Verses & Biblical Themes in Fireside Noel: Echoes of Christmas

In the choruses I’ve added, the theme of salvation has been woven in. This includes:

  • believing in Jesus and receiving salvation
  • worshipping God and sharing the gospel message with others
  • that Jesus humbly came down and conquered death to save us
  • that Jesus is our peace who came and tore the veil allowing us to be at peace with God – His grace shining where hope had worn
  • an encouragement to shine brightly with our testimony of freedom and joy for all the world to see.
